The Lionn are a race of warriors living in the high, cold reaches of the world. They are able crafts people and make their own clothing, weaponry, shelter and food. Their artificing at times exceeds that of elven make, particularly in the area of swords. They lack a unified political structure, and due to their diminishing numbers, are unlikely to ever develop or need one. The Lionn rarely live together in groups larger than two hundred, and regard personal space as a basic need.
Their religious beliefs center around the existence of another world parallel to this one: a place from which, they say, the Lionn came originally. The oral speaking tradition of the Lionn is held sacred, and very few Lionn are known to have spoken to humans, fairy or other races as equals. When this occurs, it is said that the Lionn in question no longer considers those to whom she speaks human, elfish, or otherwise, but Lionn. Therefore, the racial bias goes only one way: none have ever looked upon the Lionn as anything but Lionn.
Physically, the Lionn posses a humanoid form, with bilateral symmetry. They have extremely fine senses, rivaling even those of the fairy. Their color is generally dark green, black, or aqua. There is no interracial bias toward a particular color. Their bodies are generally hairless, but stories mention Lionn with long manes of silken hair which "saved the world, and brought the flame." As with humanoids, the Lionn are a race of two sexes. They are differentiated by personal pronoun and small physical differences. All Lionn prefer being referred to as 'she' or 'her' as opposed to 'he' or 'him'. The Lionn pair off into couples early in life, and remain together as long as they live, reproducing perhaps twice during their lifespan.
As warriors, the Lionn are extremely deadly. Their reflexes are the equal of elves, their stealth exceeded only by shape shifters and shadows. The Lionn prefer darkness when fighting, as their superior senses allow advantage. They are silent, swift, and elegant in their deadliness. They do not 'play' with their victims as do the fairy, and they leave no wounded thing or being alive once they have committed to the assault.
The following is the Envoy meta-format for the Lionn:
Lionn Warrior
A Warrior of indeterminate age, unknown origin, and astounding capability. Silent, fierce, and deadly. If a deep friendship is formed, the Lionn will begin recounting the stories of her people, and the 'other' place.

The Geering Sword is crafted by the Lionn and possesses extraordinary properties. The first impression one gets is the absence of any sheen on the blade: it is a very deep black. Second, the sharpness of the blade: it can cut almost any material placed before it, saving stone and other equally hard materials. Finally, the flexibility of the sword: as flexible as a rapier, yet endowed with the strength of a long sword.
The armor of the Lionn (should she choose to take some) is usually of human or elven manufacture, though there have been exceptions.
